Privacy Policy

bitbank entertainment, inc. (the "Company") shall observe the Act on the Protection of Personal Information ("the Personal Information Protection Act") and other relevant laws, regulations, rules and the like, and shall stipulate the acquisition, use, third party provision and storage of personal information of its customers that it retains for the execution of its business, as well as the handling of requests, inquiries and the like from relevant customers for disclosure, correction, suspension of use and/or deletion of such information, as in the following Privacy Policy (the "Policy") to establish and work on the continuous improvement of its personal information management system.

1. Scope of the Policy

  1. The Company shall handle personal information of its customers for its services to the extent necessary for achieving the purposes of its use. The Company shall not use personal information of its customers beyond the purposes indicated to customers, unless one of the exceptions defined by the Personal Information Protection Act applies.
  2. Definition of Personal Information
  3. Personal information herein means "personal information" as defined in Article 2, Paragraph (1) of the Personal Information Protection Act.
  4. The Company may acquire cookies, device identification information, access logs and other information for improving the convenience of services in the execution of its business. Such information shall not be personal information as personal information of a specific individual cannot be identified with the information alone. However, such information shall also be deemed to constitute personal information defined in this paragraph if it is used in conjunction with other information to identify a certain individual.
  5. The Company may use statistically processed data with which individuals cannot be identified, based on personal information it received.
  6. Acquisition
  7. In the process of service provision, the Company shall acquire personal information of its customers from the following source in an appropriate and lawful manner for the purposes listed under "4. Use" in accordance with laws, the Company’s regulations and other rules and guidelines. - Provision directly by customers (e.g., at the time of user registration)

2. The Company shall be careful not to collect personal information of children under the age of 15 without consent of their guardians.

4. Use

  1. The Company shall use information acquired upon user registration, inquiry information from customers, behavioral history and other information in accordance with laws, the Company’s regulations and other rules and guidelines and within the scope of the following purposes: 1.1. Information acquired upon user registration and inquiry information from customers shall be used for the following purposes:
  • Provision of the Company’s products and services
  • Provision of information on products/services of the Company and its affiliates, campaigns and notification of the changes of rules and policies
  • Response to inquiries from customers, notification of service use status and emergency contact
  • Maintenance/support for products/services provided by the Company
  • Statistical analysis of information acquired from the customer profile (e.g., nickname, language, device/OS type, guild affiliation) to use it for improvement of the Company’s services and R&D 1.2. In addition to information acquired upon user registration, behavioral history and other information shall also be used for the following purposes:
  • Product/service improvement and R&D through marketing and market research 1.3. IP address, device information and other information when using the Services shall be used for the following purposes:
  • For operation/maintenance of networks, applications, systems, etc.
  • Prevention and handling of failures, problems and/or accidents related to services, networks, applications, systems, etc.
  • Prevention and handling of misuse, etc.
  1. The Company shall notify or announce the purpose of use of personal information prior to the acquisition of such information. However, this shall not apply to the following case:
  • When the purpose of use is obvious from the acquisition status
  1. The Company shall not change the purpose of use of personal information it acquired beyond the scope that is deemed to be considerably related to the purpose of use prior to such change. When changing the purpose of use, it shall notify or announce the purpose after such change to the relevant customer. However, this shall not apply in any of the following cases:
  • If there is risk of damaging the life, body, property or any other rights or interests of a customer or a third party
  • If there is risk of damaging legitimate rights and interests of the Company
  • If it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agent for the execution of work stipulated by law, and there is risk of hindering such work by notifying or announcing the purpose of use to customers

5. Security Control

  1. When handling personal and other information, the Company shall appropriately take institutional, personnel, physical and technological security control measures. 1.1. Institutional Security Control Measures
  • The Company has established an institutional control system, including the establishment of the security committee, appointment of the person in charge of information management of each section, development of methods for handling internal rules, manuals, management ledgers and other documents and continuous improvement. 1.2. Personnel Security Control Measures
  • The Company informs/educates all workers handling personal information, including but not limited to its officials, employees, temporary workers and contractors, concerning the importance of protection of personal information, concludes confidentiality agreements and performs necessary audit/supervision to ensure the effectiveness of such agreements.
    1.3. Physical Security Control Measures
  • The Company takes measures, including access management of buildings and floors where personal information is handled, prevention of thefts, loss of personal information due to natural disasters or other causes and lock-up when taking out, transferring and storing systems and documents. 1.4. Technological Security Control Measures
  • The Company takes technological security control measures, including access control for authentication, authority management, control and record when accessing personal data, measures against illegal software and viruses, measures against falsification or bugging during transfer/transmission and system monitoring.
  1. The Company may outsource all or part of the handling of personal information to an external contractor. In this case, it shall require the contractor to set security control standards equivalent to its own and shall perform necessary and appropriate control and supervision to ensure security control of personal information.
  2. The Company shall endeavor to realize the correctness and up-to-dateness of personal information/data that it collects.

6. Third-party Provision

  1. The Company shall not provide personal information to any third party without consent from the person in question, in principle. However, in any of the following cases, it may provide personal information to a third party without such consent to the extent not to violate relevant laws and regulations.
  • When stipulated by law
  • When there is a risk of damage to the life, body, property or any other rights or interests of a customer or a third party and it is difficult to obtain consent of the customer
  • When it is especially necessary for the improvement of public health or promotion of the sound growth of children and it is difficult to obtain consent of the customer
  • When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency or its contractor for the execution of work stipulated by law, and such execution may be hindered by acquiring consent of the customer

7. Request for Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, Deletion, etc.

  1. If a customer requests disclosure, correction, suspension of use or deletion ("Disclosure, etc. ") of personal information provided by him/her, the Company shall respond appropriately and promptly by following the prescribed procedures after confirming the identity of the requester. For a request for Deletion, etc., please contact the contact person below.
  2. In any of the following cases, all or part of the personal information may not be disclosed even if disclosure is requested from the relevant customer. If the decision not to disclose is made, it will be notified to the customer without delay.
  • If it will violate other laws or regulations
  • If there is risk of damaging the life, body, property or other rights or interests of the person or a third party
  • If there is risk of significantly hindering the proper execution of the Company’s services

8. Outsourcing of Handling of Personal Information

  1. The Company may outsource all or part of its services related to handling of personal information. The Company shall take responsibility for handling of personal information by contractors.

9. Continuous Improvements

  1. To ensure appropriate handling of personal information, the Company shall promote continuous improvements, including the revision of this Policy, training of employees and revision of its personal information protection and management system in a timely manner.
